A resident of Goleta for over 50 years, Helen Brown has always had a desire to give. Generous with her time and talent, she can be found serving up cookies, tea, and coffee with a warm smile to patients at the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara. Helen also pays a weekly visit to Direct Relief International where she and a group of friends prepare bandages to be shipped to a clinic in need.
Passionate about giving, Helen turned to the Santa Barbara Foundation to learn more about the needs in our community and how she could make a difference. She gives annually to the Associates, has included the Foundation in her estate plans, and has established a Charitable Gift Annuity for the Santa Barbara Zoo. "The Santa Barbara Foundation is truly a giving organization. So many of the institutions I know and love have benefited enormously from gifts through the Foundation," stated Helen. "My annuity works wonderfully, providing a source of income for me today, as well as the good feeling of giving back."
